Every year, the popular group of throat singers, Chirgilchin offers master classes in California. In August, 2007 we also hosted a master class in Tuva. There were 14 people from around the world interested in learning this ancient vocal art. Two women came from Australia, a young man from France, two men from Denmark, a music professor from England, as well as

8 Americans of different ages and professions--a computer programmer, a designer, a musician, a financier, teacher, and one student. Clearly, the community that surrounds throat singing is very diverse. In 2008, Chirgilchin is determined to repeat this project, possibly twice, one session in June and one in July.

The first camp is planned to occur in Erzhey--well known as the oldest settlement of Russian old-believers--while the second camp will be on the shore of the Tuvan lake, Chagytai. We invite all who are interested to spend a part of their summer in the company of fellow artists and musicians.
