While Tuva has many rivers suitable for rafting, it isn't well known among rafting enthusiasts. This is simply because of the costs and lack of convenient transportation to these mountain rivers.. Nevertheless, there are amateur rafting competitions. There are class VI rapids on Bii-Khem, from the source to the Yenisei falls.

From the village Toora-Khem , there's only one rapid - Khutinsky, Class III. This rapid might be enjoyable for beginners. It is easy to reach Toor-Khem by steamboat--"Zarya".
The Ulug-Oo river has several Class IV rapids, which are short, but exhilarating. Serlig-khem is a another class IV rapid. There are also class VI rapids: Katerina-1, Katerina-2, Katerina-3. There are class V rapids on the Kyzyl-khem and Balyktyr-khem rivers, which pour into the Ka-khem all the way to Kyzyl. 15-20 running days. Scouting is mandatory at the most difficult sites.

Most memorable falls: the Ladder, Melzelsky, Cheeks. Rapids: Panfilovsky, Vasilevsky, Baibalsky, Integral, Moscow. The river Kham-Syra (inflow Bii-Khem), from Chazylaar up to the village Yrban (about 225 km), is Class III. It can be completed in about 10-12 days. The rapids: "Kruglyi", "Kutsyi", "Ryaboi" and the narrowing channel "Tishi"
